Self care isn’t just a good practice for mental and physical health but it’s also a responsibility. Practicing self care is crucial, just like spreading kindness into the world you should be kind to yourself and make yourself a priority. There are endless ways to practice self care but today I’ll be sharing what will become a new series: 52 Weeks for Happiness.

The prompts are split into 4 categories – Reflect, Acknowledge, Invest, Transform. The first few weeks are the “Reflect” phase.
This week’s prompt was “List What Makes You Happy Right Now”
This initial prompt seems simple but it was actually difficult to fill up an entire page of things that make me happy, let alone the two pages they provide. Here are a few things I listed:
Nothing brings me more joy than being able to make a positive difference in someone’s life. It gives me a sense of peace and tons of fulfillment. Whether it’s through my day job in the healthcare industry, as a content creator here for Glamour and Giggles, or volunteering at numerous places, I’m able to find joy in helping many.
Everything with Glamour and Giggles puts a smile on my face. It’s my creative outlet and allows me to grow in so many different ways. Moreover, the blogging community is so positive and empowering and I’m able to spread tons of good energy through this platform.
Makeup and skincare, along with blogging, was a form of self care before I transformed both into an actual career. They allow me to relax and have helped me get through depression and anxiety. Growing up I was the least creative person out there but makeup helped change that and brings me so much joy!
I used to journal a ton when I was younger but stopped in my late teens. I’m not entirely sure why but it had to do with anxiety and having all my thoughts actually written out began to scare me and I froze. Well it’s time to press that defrost button because I am ready to tackle my fears and live a happier life!
