Spring 2015 Beauty Haul: Sephora, Ulta, Luxe Pineapple, and Morphe Brushes!

Hi dolls! I am finally on summer break and boy does it feel wonderful! Today I’ll be sharing some of my beauty purchases from Spring. I didn’t buy all this in one go, it took a few trips and some online orders – and I actually have an order that is still finding it’s way to me!

Let’s dig in, shall we? I went to Sephora about three times and one of those was during their VIB sale!

Sephora Master Cleanse Daily Brush Cleanser – $8.50

I’ve been using Dawn soap to clean my brushes for the longest time but I wanted a daily cleanser so that’s the reason I got the Sephora Master Cleanse! I’ve heard great things about both Sephora’s and Beauty Blender’s Solid Cleansers so I thought to try them both to figure out which one I prefer! So far I’ve been using Beauty Blender’s and I really love it! I need to see how long it lasts before making the decision on repurchasing it because $16 is pricey for a small bar of soap.

I’ve been in search of a new foundation for quite some time now. I’ve been using Mac’s Studio Fix Fluid for the past few years and although I love the coverage, it tends to break me out from time to time. I’ve been using UD’s liquid foundation and I am IN LOVE! It’s super pricey but definitely worth it because it glides onto my skin flawlessly and gives such great coverage! It blends out super quick and nice and doesn’t cling onto my dry patches.
I really liked how the UD concealer looked on me after trying it out in the store and decided to buy it without thinking. I think it’s great but not the most amazing thing out there. I like my Mac Concealer almost the same. They both cover under eyes well and don’t give me any problems at all.

I don’t know how but I forgot to add my YSL Lip Oil to this photo! This was a total impulse buy and I blame Kathleen Lights! I saw her talk about it in one of her videos and did the same thing as her – I went into Sephora, tried it on, walked around for about half an hour, and fell in love! This lip tint oil is perfection, I want to own them all at one point in my life! It keeps my lips super moisturized and provides a long lasting color, I’ve been using it every day since I got it.
The last two things I purchased from Sephora are things I just wanted for no good reason at all. I don’t own a concealer brush so I thought..why not? As for the corrector pen, I read a fellow blogger’s review on it not too long ago and saw it in the sale section and thought to try it out! I’m skeptical on how well it will work but I’ll be trying it out later this week!
And let’s be real, I mainly went to the VIB sale for that free clutch.
Now onto the few things I got at Ulta:
I went into Ulta to purchase a few NYX items – some of their matte lip creams, eyeliners, lip pencils, finishing spray, and brow wax pencils and they were out of EVERYTHING! I didn’t expect them to have half the things I wanted but I thought they would have at least one thing! This was the same for the other two Ulta’s went to after so needless to say I was quite sad. No worries though, I’ll be stalking NYX’s and Ulta’s website for the rest of forever until I get what I want.
I did find a few gems though!
This will sound crazy to some people but I have never tried dry shampoo until yesterday. So far, I am loving this shampoo, it smells super fresh and clean and I will definitely be picking up a full size soon! I’m getting the Amika Dry Shampoo in my Birchbox this month so I’m really excited to try them both and see which I like better!

Zoya Nail Polish in Posh/Mat – $4.47

I’m not sure if Ulta keeps a lot Zoya and OPI polishes on sale but this was the first time I saw so many of them marked down! All of these colors are gorgeous and I’m really excited to try the reddish matte color! Also, Ulta had all of their brand products on sale so their polishes, which are normally $6.00, were on sale for $2.00! I wanted to grab one of every color they had but the whole stand was pretty much empty once I got there.
LuxePineapple recently came out with their own line of lip glosses and I just had to get my hands on a couple of them! They released 5 shades and I bought the duo in Confident (top) and Divalicious (bottom). The duo cost $24.99 but now they are only being sold as single glosses at $15/per gloss. These glosses are so pigmented and long lasting! I’ve been wearing Confident more often but I love Divalicious just as much!
Here are photos of me wearing both shades:
Confident on the left and Divalicious on the right!
The last purchase for this haul is from Morphe Brushes:
I missed out on this palette the first time around but I was super happy when I was able to purchase it a few weeks ago. I did swatches and a mini review here if you’re interested!
And there you have it! I’m still waiting on an order from Makeup Revolution but other than that, these were my Spring beauty purchases!
What beauty items did you purchase this season? Let me know in the comments!

Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill Favorites Palette Swatches & Review

Hello beauties! I am so happy to say that I finally got my hands on a JH Favorites Palette! I missed out when Morphe Brushes first released them but I was able to purchase one a few weeks ago!

Jaclyn Hill collaborated with Morphe Brushes to bring us a palette full of 28 of her favorite colors! This palette includes a mix of warm and cool toned colors with matte and shimmery finishes! The cost was $27.99 plus around $8.00 shipping. The price of this is fantastic, it makes each shadow about a dollar! This palette is out of stock and as of now Morphe Brushes has not released plans on restocking it.

The palette came in a HUGE box and I really think Morphe Brushes could have found a better way to ship these. I shouldn’t be complaining though – my palette came safe and sound!
I think I’m going to cut the back of the box so I can have this side with her photo and note. Is that weird? I hope not.
So this is what the palette looks like. Nothing too fancy, it’s sleek and a little flimsy but I actually really like it!
I don’t know about you all but I drooled just looking at photos of this palette! I was head over heels in love once I actually got it! I adding numbers of each of the eyeshadow in case any of you wanted to purchase them on their own – each shadow is $2.00 a piece!
Here are swatches of the first row:
Swatches of row 2:
Swatches of row 3:
Swatches of row 4:
I couldn’t believe how pigmented these shadows were until I swatched them myself – I literally drooled at the sight of them! So far I’ve only been using the colors in rows 2 and 3 but I love all the shadows that are included in this palette! If I remember correctly numbers 61 and 67 were a bit chalky but I can totally overlook that since all the other ones are AMAZEBALLS!
A huge reason I bought this palette is for the warm/neutral colors included. These are the types of colors I reach for most often and since I’m no makeup expert, this is a perfect palette for me to practice creating different looks with! I don’t like using my Naked 3 or Chocolate Bar when playing around with shadows but I won’t feel guilty using this one to the max!
One of the downsides to this palette is the flimsy packaging. Now, I did say I liked it and I do BUT I’m 100% sure I’ll find a way to break it if I take it whilst travelling. Other than that, I really don’t see any negatives with this palette – it’s perfect for me and what I was looking for so I’m really happy with it!
Were any of you able to get your hands on this palette? Let me know your thoughts below!

Ouish Boutique Acai and Hibiscus Day and Night Cream Review

Today I am super excited to share a brand I recently became a fan of – Ouish Boutique
Ouish Boutique is an independent beauty brand that sells various products ranging from bath muffins to various skincare products such as face creams, body oils, scrubs, and more! They also sell a monthly box which includes four luxurious bath muffins – a great way to treat yourself! The owner, Nadia, is such a sweet woman and very kind, and that really makes Ouish more appealing in my eyes.

Here is a little more info about  Ouish Boutique from their website:
Ouish was founded in 2014 by a young business woman with a passion for beautiful, unique and luxurious bath and body products. The name Ouish is a take true to heart and originates from the founders childhood. When she was young, she would always pick up dandelions and make a wish as she blew their parachuted seeds into the air. As you might have already noticed, the name “Ouish” was developed as a play on the word “wish” as a memory from her childhood. Many years later, Nadia’s wish came true and she is now the founder of her very own bath and body boutique!
I was introduced to Ouish Boutique through Luxe Pineapples LE Small Luxuries Box a few weeks ago and have been hooked since! I received the Acai and Hibiscus Day Cream, Soothing Eye Serum, and Vanilla Hazelnut Bath Muffin in the Small Luxuries box and soon after I purchased the Acai and Hibiscus Night Cream and Miracle Oil.
This review will focus on the Acai and Hibiscus Day and Night Creams.
Can we just take a look at the packaging first? I find it so simple and cute plus I love the little tag on each of the jars!

Acai and Hibiscus Night Cream – 2oz | $9.00

This Acai & Hibiscus Night Face cream is high in protein, triglycerides and vitamins due to the honey and goat milk in this product. Its regenerating properties can help promote collagen formation in the skin. Our formula is gentle and our signature scent fills the air with notes of hibiscus and acai, sprinkled with the scents of currant, plumeria, jasmine and amber. It is perfect for your evening face cream!

Acai and Hibiscus Day Cream – 2oz | $9.00

This Acai & Hibiscus Day Face cream is lightweight yet rich in Vitamin E to help moisturize and regenerate the skin. Our formula is gentle and our signature scent fills the air with notes of hibiscus and acai sprinkled with currant, plumeria, jasmine and amber. It is perfect for your everyday face cream!

I have been using both of these for about two weeks now and I am super impressed! I have really dry skin with tons of dry patches and flakiness but this day cream keeps my skin moisturized ALL DAY! I’ve tried so many moisturizers that claim to be hydrating and intensely moisturizing but none compare to this one.

The night cream is just as great, it’s super creamy + moisturizing and I just love how it absorbs into my skin super quick. I use this the night cream 4-5 days a week while I use the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask the remaining days for an extra oompf of hydration.

I find the consistency of both of these similar, the night cream might be a tiny bit creamier than the day cream but both are super moisturizing! My skin’s dry patches and flakiness have diminished greatly since I incorporated both of these into my skincare routine.

Also, both of these smell INCREDIBLE! I usually don’t like my moisturizers to have a scent to them but the soft floral scent of both of these are amazing. If you prefer scentless moisturizers these may not be the products for you.

Furthermore, both of these creams are so much more affordable than all of my past moisturizers, I can’t believe they each cost $9.00 a jar! I plan to review their soothing eye serum and miracle oil next – I want to use them for a couple weeks longer before writing about them.

I highly recommend checking out Ouish Boutique and both of these creams as well as their other products! Slowly but surely I want to purchase their Acai and Hibiscus Face Scrub and one of their body oils and body splashes. Actually…I just want to own almost everything in their shop!

Have you tried Ouish Boutique? Let me know what you think of this independent brand in the comments below!

7 Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag

Hey everyone!

One of my fantastic friends, Natasha, tagged me this 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty Tags! You should definitely check out Natasha’s blog – she is SUPER talented and a total sweetheart!

So let’s jump right into the questions!

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What’s your most expensive?
My most inexpensive beauty item is my ELF Professional Brow and Lash Wand – it was only $1.00! ELF products are so affordable, I really want to try out their Beauty Bundle, the reviews I’ve seen have been positive!
My most expensive beauty item is probably my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette – It’s one of my favorite palettes, I can’t live without that bad boy! I hope to included the original Naked and Naked 2 palette to my collection!

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What has been the hardest product to get?
I can think of so many but my main items are Mac’s Blacktrack and Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner! I have those days where neither of them work for me! My Stila liner tends to leak once in a while so it can get super messy and don’t even get me started on the times my hands shake and I stab myself in the eye!
The hardest product I have a difficult time getting my hands on is pretty much everything I want from NYX. Ulta and Target never seem to have their setting sprays, lip creams, or brow wax pencils – it drives me crazy!

3. GLUTTONY: What’s your most delicious beauty products?
Oh gosh, I want to say my Buxom lippies because of their minty sensation but my Too Faced Chocolate Bar smells so good!

4. SLOTH: What beauty products do you neglect due to laziness?
I think I neglect my blushes and bronzers the most. I am SUPER LAZY and by the time I get my foundation and eyeliner just right, I’m just like – okay, I’m totally good to go.

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
My eyeliner for sure, it’s so strange how drawing a line on my eyelid can make feel like a fierce queen! I seriously cannot live without my Stila Stay All Day Liner and Mac Blacktrack! No matter how many other liners I try, I always fall back to these two!

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
I think someone who has a great sense of humor and someone who is respectful, kind, and caring. I agree with Natasha said in her post, some people take things too seriously and can be over sensitive!

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
If we’re talking about beauty products, I’ve always wanted a set of Sigma Brushes, Nars and Stila lippies, and..okay..let’s be real, I just want to own everything in Sephora!

…and that’s a wrap! I tag anybody who wants to do this! Please link your posts in the comments below if you decide to do this tag, I’d love to read your answers!

Oma Courage Chocolate – $8.00

Marou Dark Chocolate Mini Bar – $3.33
I LOVE dark chocolate so I was really happy to see both of these in the box! It’s definitely one of the pricier brands included. Through this bar Oma wants you to live a courageous lifestyle, less straightforward, and often different from what you imagined. This bar is also certified organic! The Maraou dark chocolate was the first bar I ripped open and it was delicious! I’m definitely going to purchase a larger bar in the near future!

Fran’s Gray Salt Caramels in Dark Chocolate – $6.75
The Taza Chili Chocolate is a flavor I have never tried before but I am intrigued since I do like the combined taste of chili and chocolate! This is certified organic, non GMO, certified gluten-free, and dairy and soy free, and vegan!
I’ve heard of Fran’s chocolate but never tried them myself. I haven’t tried these yet but I’m 100% sure I’ll love them since I love caramel and dark chocolate. Fran’s signature soft butter caramel is dipped in 64% dark chocolate and finished with gray salt.
The overall value of this box is a little over $30.00 and although the value is slightly under the price of the box I am impressed! The box this month consisted of 6 different treats that I’m super excited to try out! Onto the items!
Bean Fields Chips – 1.5 oz $1.25

Go Raw Sprouted Cookies – 0.5 oz $1.37

Barney Butter Almond Butter – 0.6 oz $0.63
The chips sound delicious, and I love how they’re non GMO, gluten-free, and vegan! I looked at their website and they have some other fun flavors too, I might buy the variety pack sometime in the future!
The cookies tasted like sprouts and chocolate – no surprise there – and they’re also non GMO, vegan, and gluten-free! I wasn’t a huge fan of these but they were fun to try!
I love getting samples of almond butter because I’m not a big enough fan to purchase a whole bottle so these little packs are just enough for when I get a craving! These are also gluten-free!
Fiona’s Natural Foods Mountain Blend Trail Mix – 10 oz $5.99

Rani’s Original Yum Buttered Oats – 1.2 oz $1.99
The trail mix is full of raw nuts, seeds, fruits, and some chocolate, plus it’s salt free, wheat free, dairy free, and vegan. This is a nice amount and I’m sure it will last me a while. I’m not a huge fan of salt free trail mixes but I still enjoy eating this, mainly for the cranberries and raisins!
These “Granola Shooters” come in a variety of flavors and are perfect for on the go snacking! I always love me some oats and I really want to try some of their other flavors, they’re perfect to take to class!
Svelte Protein Shake in Spiced Chai – 11 oz $2.58

Musclewerk D-Fine 8 Powder – 3 packets $2.44
I’m not a fan of spiced chai but I’ll be brave and try this protein shake out sometime soon! It’s vegan, organic, and gluten free and can act as a meal replacement or protein snack. Let’s be real though, I would never use it as a meal replacement because this girl loves her food.
The D-Fine powder is a fat burner with CLA, a fatty acid that helps you slim down and Fit Snack sent three different flavors, lemon, fruit punch, and raspberry. I’m always iffy about these types of products but I’ll definitely give them a try!
Overall, I do like the contents of this box. I haven’t tried any of these brands before, which is why I love Fit Snack! They introduce me to so many brands that are new to me and they definitely motivate me to eat healthier! From my calculations, the value was around $16, which is below the total cost. I did do some estimating on a few items so I wouldn’t be surprised if my calculations are off!
If you’re interested in subscribing, you can do so here! My readers will be able to get a free gym bag by subscribing using my link!

Let me know what your thoughts are on this month’s Fit Snack!

April 2015 Birchbox Review

Hello everyone! Has it been a long week for anyone else or just for me? I’m super excited that their are only two weeks left for the semester and my first year of grad school will be complete!

Anywho let’s get to my April Birchbox!

How beautiful is this month’s design? Rifle Paper Co. designed this exclusively for Birchbox!

For those who don’t know, Birchbox is a monthly beauty sampling subscription service that costs $10/month!

Birchbox is one of my favorite subscription services because I find myself actually using and loving everything (or almost everything) I receive! I’ve discovered many new brands from this sub!

Another reason I love Birchbox is their INCREDIBLE point system! For every item in your box you review, you receive 10 Birchbox points, which is equal to $1 in theBirchbox store. Something new they started this year is if you share your Birchbox on FB or Twitter you will get an additional 10 points! These points add up super fast since you can get $6 or more worth of store credit each month!

Each box comes with a card detailing the products included:
As always, I peeked at my box so I knew what I was getting ahead of time!
Whish Shave Cream in Blueberry – 0.75 oz $3.00

TempleSpa Peace Be Still Calming Face and Body Balm – 0.84 oz $3.62

Supergoop Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Cream – 2 ml $6.09
I received the shaving cream in a previous box and I still haven’t used it up so I’ll probably send this to a friend. The full size costs $20.00 and I feel like I get the same results as any shaving cream that costs a lot less. The body balm smells super great, the scent is soothing and it’s moisturizing, I really like how it absorbs quickly into my skin! I plan to save up some Birchbox points for the full size, which is $29.00. As for the eye cream, I’ve heard loads of great things about it so I do have high expectations! It’s supposed to reduce dark circles, depuffs, and minimizes fine lines.
The downside to all three of these samples is that half of each bottle is full of air so I got a lot less product than I expected.
Beauty Protector Protect and Oil – ??

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Brightening Illuminator – 0.04 oz $10.18
This oil protects against heat, breakage, and UV rays and I do have high expectations for it since I love the protect and detangle and their hair mask! Almost everyone who tries Beauty Protector products rave about how great they smell and I agree, I LOVE the scent of all their products! The protect and oil sample doesn’t say how many ounces it is and I’m terrible at estimating but the full size is about $26 and 4 ounces. I’m having a hard time believing this tiny sample of the illuminator is $10 since the product is tiny and it feels like most of the tube is filled with air. Maybe I calculated the cost wrong, who knows! Anywho, this highlighter is supposed to leave a subtle glow and I’m probably going to add this to my giveaway or swap pile since I don’t use highlighters often.
This month’s Birchbox wasn’t the best but it wasn’t terrible either. My favorite products are the beauty balm, protect and oil, and eye cream! The overall value of this box is over $22 – that’s more than double the price!
Do you subscribe to Birchbox – if so, what were your favorite products from April?
