Tarte recently had a friends and family sale and I couldn’t resist grabbing their new Make Believe in Yourself Palette!

This palette costs $40 and is available on Tarte’s website as well as at Sephora and Ulta! Note: If you plan on purchasing this in the next week or so, I recommend purchasing it from Sephora as their Beauty Insider event will begin 4/18 – more details below:
  • Rouge Members get 15% off 4/18-4/24 with code ROUGESPRING
  • VIB Members get 15% off 4/19-4/24 with code VIBSPRING
  • Beauty Insiders get 10% off 4/20-4/23 with code BISPRING

Anywho ~ back to the palette!

This palette is absolutely magical!
Here’s a description straight from Sephora :
What it is:
A kaleidoscopic, unicorn-inspired eyeshadow palette with 10 radiant shadows and a strobing eye and cheek highlighter.

What it does:
The make believe in yourself eye & cheek palette features hypnotic shades that can be layered with the matte base and the strobing eye and cheek highlighter for a multi-faceted, fairy-like glow. Infused with Amazonian clay and mineral pigments, the silky-soft formula blends to a fine, long-lasting finish without any fallout or chalkiness.

This palette contains:
– 10 x 0.105 oz/ 3 g Eyeshadow in Magic (bronze shimmer), Wings (copper shimmer), Marvel (metallic sage shimmer), Trance (taupe slate shimmer), Fairy (metallic lavender shimmer), Mystic (blue pearl shimmer), Dream (turquoise shimmer), Crystal (iridescent champagne shimmer), Pixie (golden pink shimmer), Myth (matte nude)
Let’s check out some swatches – these are without primer
I adore this palette since I don’t have many shades like these already, particularly the blues/greens. Moreover, these shadows blend really well and they’re long lasting!

Swagbucks | Earn Free Sephora Gift Cards and PayPal Cash

Happy Monday beauties! I thought I’d do a quick rundown on how to earn FREE Sephora gift cards since their annual Beauty Insider sale is just around the corner AND you can get 12% off your first $25 gift card each month!

Photo credit

If you haven’t heard about the Beauty Insider sale – here’s a quick guide to the dates/codes:

  • Rouge Members get 15% off 4/18-4/24 with code ROUGESPRING
  • VIB Members get 15% off 4/19-4/24 with code VIBSPRING
  • Beauty Insiders get 10% off 4/20-4/23 with code BISPRING
The sale will be valid in stores and online – cards have been mailed out – don’t worry if you haven’t received yours yet, it will be coming in the next few days!

Okay – so back to free gift cards!

I wrote about Swagbucks way back in 2014 when I first launched Glamour and Giggles but a few things have changed since so I thought I’d do a refresher.

I’ve been using Swagbucks for over 7 years now and have redeemed countless gift cards and paypal cash! Not only do they have Paypal Cash and Sephora gift cards, they have HUNDREDS of other prizes to choose from!

If you have enough Swagbucks – I would suggest snagging a $25 gift card of your choice because you will get a 12% discount on your first $25 gift card each month, making it 2200 Swagbucks rather than 2500!

If you have a couple hours to spare each day, it’s completely doable earn enough Swagbucks to redeem multiple Sephora cards before the sale! Below are the 3 easiest ways I earn Swagbucks:

  • Complete the daily tasks – these are listed on the left hand side of the screen. These are easy peasy and only will only take you a few minutes. Plus they’ll help you reach your daily goal so you can earn a bonus amount of Swagbucks at the end of each month!
  • Utilize Swagbucks as your search engine! You don’t have to make it your default (I don’t, I’m so used to Google!) but your chance of earning Swagbucks will increase if you do. Nevertheless, you can earn Swagbucks by searching things you’ll already be looking up with your other search engines. Note: Swagbucks is powered by Yahoo!
  • Watch videos – easy peasy once again! I tend to do this when I’m watching TV – the videos are short and you only need to stay on one video for about 30 seconds before moving onto the next!
One thing I didn’t mention on my top 3 easiest ways to earn is surveys. I know this is a popular option for many Swagbucks users and definitely one of the biggest ways to earn Swagbucks but I hardly ever qualify for surveys. They do give you one Swagbuck for going through the qualification process but sometimes that process takes up a lot of time so I prefer to do the three I mentioned above.
There are Swagbucks referral links in this post but no worries if you don’t want to use them! Let me know if you have any questions, I’d be more than happy to help!
Happy earning!

ABH Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit Swatches + Mini Review

Let’s just start by saying I bought this palette three days ago and am ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED.

As someone who owns a hundred other highlighters, not including the 3 ABH glow kits, I convinced myself I did not need it.
Well I didn’t do a great job convincing myself since I grabbed one instantly after swatching it in Sephora the other day.
Let’s talk about this palette before diving into the swatches.
Anastasia Beverly Hills collaborated with youtuber, Nicole Guerriero to create this palette. It features six metallic powder highlighters to provide a stunning, luminous glow. You can use a damp beauty sponge or brush to get an even more intense highlight!
The cost: $40 and you can grab this palette on the ABH website (free shipping on orders $25+) or Sephora (free shipping on orders $50+ if you order online – unless you have Sephora Flash – if you don’t I highly recommend getting it – $10/year for free shipping on all orders!)
Formula: The formula is really fine, smooth and blendable. These don’t look chalky or powdery at all and the shimmers don’t look chunky on the skin either.

Here’s a better description of the 6 shades:

  • Kitty Kat: pink with a platinum shimmer
  • Daydream: coral with white gold shimmer
  • Forever Young: pink pearl with silver shimmer
  • Forever Lit: platinum with lavender shimmer
  • Glo Getter: champagne with rose shimmer
  • 143: rose gold with bronze shimmer
What I really love about this palette is how wonderful the shades will look on so many different skin tones! I feel like I can rock all six shades with my medium/warm/olive skin tone. Plus, the possibilities are endless since you can create so many fun shades by mixing them up!
I’ve been mixing Glo Getter and Daydream the past three days and LOVE it the combination!
I highly recommend this palette to anyone who’s looking for fun, new shades to try out. Or if you want to add a new palette to your collection – THIS. IS. IT.
Grab yours at a local Sephora or purchase it online here!

Sephora VIB Rouge Flash Your Card Event Haul | 2017

I love a good Sephora haul so when I received an email about the latest VIB Rouge event, I made a quick trip to my local Sephora – seriously..it was quick, I was in and out within 10 minutes!

This event is specifically for VIB Rouge members and is running from March 10-11 in all Sephora stores.
Basically, you get a free Selfie Light with a $35 purchase. I love free things and don’t anticipate being VIB Rouge every year so I definitely wanted to take advantage of everything possible!
I decided to stick to the theme of this event and hauled a bunch of highlighters I wanted to try!

medianet_width = “180”;
medianet_height = “150”;
medianet_crid = “282486747”;
medianet_versionId = “111299”;
(function() {
var isSSL = ‘https:’ == document.location.protocol;
var mnSrc = (isSSL ? ‘https:’ : ‘http:’) + ‘//contextual.media.net/nmedianet.js?cid=8CU5VB18R’ + (isSSL ? ‘&https=1’ : ”);

Here’s what the Selfie Light looks like if you’re interested – it has 3 different light adjustments!

First highlighter I picked out is Stila’s Heaven’s Hue Highlighter in Bronze. I LOVE the texture of this highlight and the shade is beyond stunning. I really wanted Kitten also but unfortunately they were sold out.

The next ones I picked up are the Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighters. I had originally thought I’d only buy one but after swatching them in store, I had to have all three! The formula is silky smooth and the pigmentation is just wonderful! Btw, how cute is the packaging?!

The last thing I bought is the ABH Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit. I was iffy on this because the last glow kit I bought (The Ultimate Glow Kit) was not as great as the other ones I have. Thankfully though, the formula of these highlighters are just as amazing as the ones in the original glow kits!
Well there ya have it! Have any of you hauled any fun items lately? Let me know if you have any recommendations, highlighters and anything else!

Too Faced White Chocolate Chip Palette First Impressions + Swatches

Too Faced launched two palettes in time for the holidays recently – their Matte Chocolate Chip Palette and White Chocolate Chip Palette. I picked up the latter when it was available to VIB Rouge members on the Sephora site. I thought I’d do a quick first impressions and show some swatches before they restocked their website since I’ve seen many people show interest in wanting to get their hands on this palette!

This palette is available on Sephora’s website for $26 and comes with 11 cocoa powder infused pastel, creamy nudes, and a pop of black shades. It’s currently sold out but they should be restocking soon.
The first thing I noticed about this palette is that it’s small and sleek.

Like REALLY small. It’s smaller than my mom’s iphone 5.
And the pan sizes are insanely small. The big pan holds 1.5 grams of product while the 10 smaller pans have 0.5 grams each making the total amount of product in this palette 6.5 grams. This is about a third of the amount included in the original Chocolate Bar which has 18.9 grams of product for $49.
Simply comparing the amount of product in each palette doesn’t make the White Chocolate Chip Palette worth it to me. You get less than half the amount of product while the cost is more than half of what the original Chocolate Bar. At first I tried to justify the small pan sizes with the fact that I hardly ever go hit pan on my shadows but my view changed once I swatched these shadows. I used very little product in my swatches and feel like I already used up a ton of product. Hopefully that isn’t the case but seeing the dents I made with one use doesn’t keep my hopes up.
Shades top to bottom: Glaze, Ambriosa, Exotica, Pearl Candy, Raspberry Rose, Indulge, Guilt Free, Cake Batter, Cookie Dough, Sugared Raisin, Black Sugar
I do like the color range of the shadows, however, I feel like there are more nudes than pastels. Before I played around with the shadows, I expected the shimmers to outperform the mattes but it was the opposite. I had to layer up the shimmer shades to build up the swatches. Most of the mattes are good in my opinion, but not impressive. They’re extremely powdery and a few had to be built up.
Final Thoughts
Pros: Cute packaging, the cocoa scent is great, and color range is something I’d use
Cons: Amount of product provided, formula isn’t as great as I hoped it to be, especially the shimmery shades.
If you’re a beauty enthusiast who wants this in your collection, then I’d say why not – but don’t have your hopes up. If you’re someone who’s on the market for a new palette, I’d say skip this and splurge on a Lorac Palette, especially if their holiday ones are still available ($18 only!) or even an Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
If you’re willing to try something new, I’d say go with an indie brand such as Touch of Glam BeautyDevinah Cosmetics, or JD Glow Cosmetics!
What are your thoughts on the White Chocolate Chip Palette? Will you be purchasing it if you have not already?

Life Updates + My Goals As A Blogger For 2017

It’s been a few months since I last did a personal post and turning 25 recently has really got me thinking about tons of things with my personal life, blog, and more! Below I’ll be answering a few questions I’ve asked myself and questions I get asked by others.

Are you where you thought or expected you’d be at this age?
Heck no! In my late teens/early twenties I thought or hoped I would already be in the process of finding my life companion by I was 24 and have kids by 26-27 and that has definitely not happened. I know it’s totally okay and normal not to be married at this age and it’ll all happen when the time is right for me but still .-.
Career wise, however, I’m not disappointed nor content if that makes any sense. I never really had any professional goals growing up – all I knew is that I wanted to get a degree (no one in my immediate family went to college) and I wanted to help people. I have a Bachelors in History and recently completed graduate studies and have a Masters in Health Administration so yay – I’m not a complete failure! Moreover, I think I’m meeting my goal in helping people with the current position I have in the healthcare field so double yay! The reason I say I’m not content is that there are so many fields to experience in this world – tying myself down to one specific area doesn’t feel right for me and my goals.
Why don’t you post more frequently?
I haven’t been motivated to blog these past few months and as disappointed as I am with myself on that, I didn’t think it would have been right to post for the sake of posting – I want all my content on here to have a meaning behind it. That being said – I really hope to be active here on out!
Favorite TV show?
Usually I would name a dozen crime shows but right now my heart completely belongs to an Indian dance show – Super Dancer! Super Dancer’s aim is to find a child who has the potential to become the future of dance. What makes this show so special is that it’s full of positivity and warms your heart from the hosts to the judges to the contestants and their choreographers! Moreover, many of the choreographers on the show were contestants on other dance shows so it’s so so amazing to see them on TV again and watch how they’ve grown, especially with their own unique styles.
Each contestant on the show is immensely talented – I think they’re all worthy of being called “dance ka kal” (future of dance). Also, I have to say that their performances are so so amazing – the show has been airing since September and there has not been a single performance that was dull or lacking. Last thing I’ll say about Super Dancer is that I’ve never cried so much – whether it’s from their emotional performances or from comedy acts – everyone is so talented on this show – I hope it continues on for a long time! You can check out some of their episodes here!
Have you ever considered becoming a full time beauty blogger?
Yes! I love sharing my experiences with all things beauty and hope I can pursue a full time career as a blogger someday. I don’t that happening anytime soon but it is one of my ultimate goals at this moment.
Will you share your entire makeup collection at some point?
Yes! My mom and I plan to move into a new home in Spring 2017 so it’ll have to wait until then. All my makeup is currently in boxes but I have plans for creating a beauty room/office when we make the big move so that’s when I plan to show my full collection!
What types of posts should Glamour and Giggles readers expect?
Besides product reviews and hauls, I hope to start doing some spotlight features on indie brands. I have a directory on indie brands/small shops here if you’re interested! I also hope to bring more of the “lifestyle-ness” to Glamour and Giggles – I have a few ideas how but nothing definite yet. I am totally open to suggestions! Lastly, I hope to create resources for those who want to blog but are not sure how or where to start. The possibilities are endless!
Anything new or exciting happen in your life lately?
I feel like I have the most boring life ever – the only new or exciting thing I can think of is my latest splurge. I got my first camera on my birthday – a Canon PowerShot SX610 HS! I am so camera illiterate I don’t see myself starting to use it until early 2017.
Well there you have it! I hope you all found this interesting or learned something new about me! If you’re new to the blog I first thank you for visiting lil old me and welcome you to check out my “About” page along with my latest beauty review!
