Full Spectrum was created with multicultural women in mind with true tones and pigmented shades that stand out. All products in this line are marketed as incredibly pigmented that bring out your true tones. AKA, you their won’t be any ashiness! COVERGIRL is cruelty free and on the affordable side. Full Spectrum can be found at Ulta, Walgreens, CVS, Target, and Amazon!
COVERGIRL’s Matte Ambition is described as “helps build a smooth base for all your looks”. It also claims to be transfer resistant, provides all day comfort with oil absorbing powders for a natural matte finish. The price of Matte Made ranges from $8.99-$13.41 depending on which retailer you purchase it from. Target seems to have it at the most affordable price while Amazon is the highest.
Matte Ambition comes in a bottle with a pump applicator. Nothing bulky or extreme, exactly what I hoped for. The pump does lock if you twist it, something I wish all foundation pumps did.
The formula of this isn’t super thick but when you apply it, it almost feels like water and feels similar to COVERGIRL’S TruBlend Matte Made Foundation – click here for swatches and first impressions!. It feels super hydrating and blends easily. I didn’t notice this drying down to a darker shade so the shade you initially see is what it will remain as.
There are 20 shades available in the Matte Ambition family. There are 4 Light shades, 4 Medium shades, 5 Tan shades, and 7 Deep shades with a mix of cool, golden, and neutral undertones.
Currently, I’ve been using a mixture of a pump and a half of Medium 210 and a pump of Tan 310 to get my desired shade. I like the way this applies, it’s easy to blend, super comfortable, and does not irritate my skin – and my skin is super sensitive. I achieve a light to medium coverage with Matte Ambition and can get a full on medium coverage if I apply two coats. I find Matte Ambition to be long-wearing and shine controlling, I don’t find the need to blot or re-powder my face when using this. I do agree that Matte Ambition helps build a smooth base for the rest of my makeup. Blush, bronzer, contour, highlight, concealer, and basically everything else I use applies seamlessly on top of Matte Ambition.
