Unboxing Beauteque’s Curate-A-Collection With Unboxing Beauty: Fresh Citrus Fix!

Hello hello hello!

I am super duper excited about this unboxing because it’s one of the three collections bloggers curated with Beauteque!

Beauteque had a contest a few months back and three bloggers were chosen to curate their own collection! The winners were me, Kristen from Newly Minted, and the gal behind this collection – Michele from Unboxing Beauty!

What is the Fresh Citrus Fix Collection?
This collection features 5 of Michele’s favorite Citrus products! You can read more about why she chose this theme and products in her review here! She’s also having a giveaway so be sure to enter that as well! The information card also comes with information on the inspiration behind this collection!
Costs and Availability

The collection is available in the US and internationally! It costs $28 + shipping and I believe shipping starts at $3.07 in the US.

What Is Included?
Like all of Beauteque’s collections/bags, an information card detailing the products sent is included.

Nature Republic Lemon Foot & Nature Peeling Foot Mask – $5.00

Tonymoly I’m Real Lemon Mask Sheet – Brightening – $1.99
I’ve only used one foot mask in the past and it was an odd experience so fingers crossed I like this one better! This peeling mask is meant to soften feet and peel off to reveal soft, fresh soles! Basically, you put them on like socks and take them off after 60-90 minutes and rinse off your feet. Dead skin will peel off in 4-7 days – that is really interesting, I’m really curious about this product now!
I LOVE sheet masks, like I am OBSESSED! I liked the other Tonymoly sheet masks I used in the past but I haven’t tried the lemon one yet. This mask is high in vitamin C and has natural extracts like lemon, acerola fruit, and licorice root. This mask is meant to revitalize dull or tired skin and brighten your skin!
Mizon Grapefruit Body Wash – $19.00
Baviphat Lemon Whitening Sleeping Pack – $20.99

Hanaka Macaron Facial Mask – $3.90

Yikes! This body wash is pricey – I’m used to paying a couple of bucks for a bar of Dove soap lol! I’m curious to see what this is like since I do enjoy the brand Mizon and the body wash is supposed to moisturize and brighten the skin!
I never tried anything from Baviphat but after my experience with the sleeping pack, I want to try more from them! The packaging is SO cute! It’s shaped like a lemon! The product itself is meant to used right before going to bed. The vitamin C suppresses dark spots and helps prevent hyper-pigmentation and the Arbutin accelerates skin whitening! They even included a tiny spatula/spoon to apply it! I used this for 3 nights now and although I can’t tell a difference yet, I can say that it feels amazing on my skin! It absorbs into my skin super quick and doesn’t leave any sort of greasy feeling!
The last item is a facial mask that has skin whitening, anti-aging, and strengthening properties! I’m a sucker for masks so I’m pleased with this product too!
Overall Thoughts

The total value of this collection is about $51 and it costs $28! Although some of the products can be found for a cheaper price, I find that this is still a great deal.
The collection itself is amazing, I really like the products Michele and Beauteque included! Like Michele, I also enjoy products with citrus in it. Usually these types of collections have something that I’ll end up passing along to a friend but I will for sure use everything! I think I’m most excited about the masks and sleeping mask!

June 2015 Ipsy Unboxing and Review

Ipsy is a monthly subscription service available residents of the United States and Canada and it costs $10/month – shipping included. North Carolina, New York, and California charges tax while the remaining states do not.

Ipsy sends out 4-5 deluxe or full sized samples in a beauty bag each month! These products can range from beauty, hair, and skincare products and tools.

What I love about Ipsy is that it seems to be focused more on makeup – at least the bags I have gotten so far tend to be that way!

This month’s theme is “Swim Into Beauty” and the bag this month is just so amazing! I love the material and the pop of color the zipper has! This is definitely my new favorite Ipsy bag!
Ipsy sent their subscribers 5 fun beauty products this month!

I have super frizzy hair so I’m excited to try the Keratherapy out! I have had Keratin treatments done in the past and they did help so I’m curious to see how this at home treatment works. You put it all over your towel dried hair and blow dry it!
I’ve tried the Dr. Brandt and Smashbox Primer before and I’m not a fan of either of them. I know so many people who love and swear by both of these but they just don’t work for my skin type (dry-combo). I find that the Dr. Brandt does nothing for my pores (I wasn’t too surprised since this is for oily-combo skin) and the Smashbox Primer makes the dry parts of my skin flake more than usual.
I’ll be adding both the Dr. Brandt and Smashbox Primer to my giveaway prize though!

I am sold with these two items! I haven’t had much luck with previous J Cat products I tried but I am in love with this lip stain so far! It’s super pigmented and doesn’t dry out my lips!
The shadow crayon is so creamy and such a pretty gold color, I know I’ll be using it often! I’m really tempted to purchase their mini trio for $32, I’d love to have some of their other colors! However, I did have have a mini freak out with the packaging since I thought the product was uncapped when I got it! Did any of you get fooled with it?
The lip stain is a bit bold and bright for my liking but I’m trying to go out of my comfort zone so I will definitely use it! The Venetian Gold is so pretty, I did not expect to love it as much as I did!
The retail value of this month’s bag is $40.54 which is 10 times more than what I paid! Overall, I am pretty happy with this month’s IpsyI wasn’t thrilled when I saw my online preview but it was definitely one of those bags where seeing it all in person made me love it more!

Luxe Pineapple Limited Edition Lip Luxuries Box of Joy Unboxing!

Hello hello hello!

I hope you all are having a fantastic day! Today I will be unboxing another box of joy from Luxe Pineapple!

If you know me you know I LOVE Luxe Pineapple! They have great deals on beauty products, super low shipping costs, and amazing un-subscription boxes of joy! Also, the owner of Luxe Pineapple, Liz, is a total sweetheart – I adore her so much!

You can check out my past Luxe Pineapple unboxings here!

So let’s talk about this LE Box of Joy! Luxe Pineapple held a contest where the winner would curate their own Box of Joy! The lovely Tasha of Belleza Kisses won this contest and created this Lip Luxuries: Create Pout Perfection themed Box of Joy with the Luxe Pineapple theme! Like Tasha, I am obsessed with lip products as well so I was ecstatic when I found out the theme of this box!

This LE Box of Joy costs $24.50 + $2.50 shipping (US, Canada shipping is $7 I believe, and international shipping quotes are available via email!). This price is a total steal considering it has 5 full sized lip products!

Each box came with an information card as well as a quote card they add into every order!

I love how Luxe Pineapple includes a quote card with every order, it definitely brightens my day and I hope to create a collage with them all in the near future!

Luxe Pineapple‘s Boxes of Joy are usually packed in their signature box but they came out with three different beauty bags for this special curation! Also, how cute is the pineapple charm??
Another neat thing about Luxe Pineapple is that they support independent and women-owned businesses! Their featured partner for this box is both of these – Mercedes of GlaMer Lips is a renowned celebrity makeup artist and her lip products are made with natural and organic ingredients with no preservatives or artificial coloring, plus they are PETA certified cruelty free!!

I love that both these products are made of all natural ingredients and I can never have too many lip balms! Mer made this pineapple lip scrub exclusively for this bag! The lip scrub doesn’t have an overpowering pineapple scent, which I appreciate! The formula is softer than Lush’s mint julips that I’ve always used. I saw a few people say great things about this scrub so I couldn’t wait to try it! It definitely exfoliated my lips in a gentle manner and left my lips crazy soft! I am crazy impressed, I’ll definitely add this to my daily routine!

Luxe Pineapple Lip Gloss in Dusty Rose – $13.00

I am already a fan of the Luxe Pineapple glosses and lip liners I own so I know I’ll love both of these! If you haven’t tried Luxe Pineapple glosses, I recommend picking some up, they’re super pigmented and long lasting! These two are specifically created for this LE Box of Joy so be sure to purchase this box if you like the swatches below!
I’ve heard great things about Pupa Milano but never tried anything by them. This lipstick is creamy and pigmented, like I am in love!
Update: Luxe Pineapple has released their lip gloss in Swoon in their shop!
(Top to bottom: Luxe Pineapple Lip Gloss in Swoon, Luxe Pineapple Lip Liner in Dusty Rose, Pupa Milano Lipstick in Diva’s Rouge)

I am in LOVE with all three of these lippies! They’re perfect for the summer and I know I’ll use all three often!
So that’s the Luxe Pineapple Limited Edition Lip Luxuries collab with Tasha of Belleza Kisses! The retail value of this box is $60 which is more than double the cost!
I am really happy with this Box of Joy! I don’t even know what to say because Luxe Pineapple continues to impress me and always manages to leave me speechless! Also, I want to thank Tasha for curating such an amazing box, she chose a great theme and fun products to go in this bag!
What are your thoughts on this Box of Joy? If you want to purchase one you can do so here! Hurry though, there’s only a limited quantity left!

Beauteque Head to Toe Lip Essentials Unbagging!

Hey everyone!

I hope you’re all having a fantastic day! Is anyone excited that it’s almost time for the weekend?! Anywho ~ today I have another Beauteque unbagging! Beauteque curates a bunch of fun bags – you can check out my other unbaggings/reviews here!

The Head to Toe Bag isn’t a recurring monthly subscription like their BB Bags but it’s more of a monthly series of beauty bags with a different theme each month!

This month’s theme was “Lip Essentials” and being the lippie addict I am, I just had to buy this one!

This bag cost $26 plus shipping. Beauteque ships this bag to the US, Canada, Europe, and there is an “other” option – I’m assuming this is for customers in other countries.
The bag comes with an information card:
A few of the products were customizable – I believe we were able to choose colors for three of the lippies!

I mainly bought this bag for the Etude House lipstick! I’ve never tried any lippies from them besides their lip liners so I really wanted to see what they were like! The packaging is super cute and I can never have too many red lippies!
I’ve never tried a collagen lip balm before so I’m intrigued to this one out, especially since it’s so pricey. I have a ton of balms open right now so I’m gonna have to put this on hold for a few months!
I have about 4-5 lip scrubs open right now and a couple backups so as much as I want to play with this one I think I may include it in my giveaway – I’m not sure yet though!

Lip Brush – $5.50
This lip patch is meant to soothe and hydrate your lips, you leave it on for 15 minutes and massage the remaining essence onto your lips. I don’t see myself using this so I’ll be giving this away.
The lip brush seems a little too thick for me but I’ll definitely try it out and see what I think! I can never have too many brushes!

I wish the tint was a little darker but I’ll definitely still use it. I wouldn’t pay $11 bucks for it though, in fact – I found the price to be half that on a different website.
I am LOVING Etude House liners at the moment but my dumb self chose a color I already had so I’ll be giving this one away in my Blogiversary Giveaway
This bag also came with a bag of samples – I’ve never seen past Head to Toe Bags do that so seeing this was a pleasant surprise!
The retail value with Beauteque’s prices is $61.50 but some of their products can be found at lower prices on other websites. I still think the value is great for what I paid! I’m definitely happy with what I got since I’ll get to experiment with some new products! Also, the bag itself is cute, it’s a bit smaller than their past bags – which I appreciate since I like having various sizes of bags!
Did you purchase the Lip Essentials bag? If not, you can do so here! Let me know your thoughts on this bag below!

May 2015 Ipsy Unboxing and Review

If you follow me on Twitter, you might know that I resubscribed to Ipsy a few weeks ago!

I was an Ipsy subscriber for a few months 1-2 years back before calling it quits since I found myself having a huge clutter of products lying around but now that I’m into experimenting more with makeup and skincare, I thought it would be great to subscribe again!

For those who don’t know what Ipsy is, it is a monthly subscription service like Birchbox! Ipsy is available to the US and Canada and costs $10/month – shipping included.

Each bag comes with a card that lets you know how you can win a 12 month subscription along with this month’s theme – Jetsetter.

I LOVE the bag they sent out this month! I was hoping for one of the other variations but this one is super cute as well!
Let’s get onto my products!

I was super pleased to see this in my bag, the Lip Pencil is so close to full size, I was amazed! I currently use Rimmel’s clear lip liner and love it but I’m excited to try this one out and see if it’s worth the money to splurge on UD’s or stick with Rimmel’s. The little booklet also came with samples of 2 of UD’s new glosses in Failbait and Bittersweet!

Nuxe Rêve de Miel® Facial Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel – 0.50 oz | $1.42

I hear lots of great things about The Balm but haven’t tried anything by them so I’m excited to see how I like this eyeshadow, plus how cute is the packaging?! I’m not fond of the scent of the Nuxe Gel but I’m still going to try out the product because I’m curious to see how well it removes my makeup!
Oscar Blandi Pronto Texture and Volume Spray – 4 oz | $24.00 FULL SIZE!
I was shocked and happy to see that Ipsy sent us a full size of this spray, I was legit expecting a travel size! I’ve heard great things about Oscar Blandi products so I’m excited to try this out and see how it works with my hair!
I love getting makeup brushes in beauty boxes! This brush is a gorgeous color and it’s super soft! I have other blending brushes a bit smaller and bigger so it’s nice to have one in between! Here’s a closer look:

This month’s bag has a value of $55.42!! That is an incredible value for an Ipsy bag considering I only paid $10 for it! I am so blown away with all the products, I know I’ll be using everything! This month’s Ipsy is a HUGE win for me!

What are your thoughts on this month’s bag? If you want to subscribe to Ipsy, you can do so here!

May 2015 Birchbox Review + Coupon Code for $1.00 Box

Happy Wing Wednesday everyone! I am so tempted to order myself some wings but I must restrain myself!

Anywho, it’s the time of the month to unbox and review my Birchbox! I peeked at my box earlier this month (no surprise there) and was pleased with what I was getting so let’s jump right into it!

For those who don’t know, Birchbox is a monthly beauty sampling subscription service that costs $10/month!

Birchbox is one of my favorite subscription services because I find myself actually using and loving everything (or almost everything) I receive! I’ve discovered many new brands from this sub!

Another reason I love Birchbox is their INCREDIBLE point system! For every item in your box you review, you receive 10 Birchbox points, which is equal to $1 in theBirchbox store. Plus, if you share your Birchbox on FB or Twitter you will get an additional 10 points! These points add up super fast since you can get $6 or more worth of store credit each month!

This month’s box was curated by Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere and coincidentally, her new book, Cupcake and Cashmere at Home, came out this month as well!

The back of the card lists the products sent with descriptions and prices. Now onto the products!

Marcelle Clay Mask – 0.55 oz | $2.23

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo – 0.75 oz | $2.97

Naobay Oxygenating Cream Moisturizer – 0.67 oz | $14.19
I’m always happy to see a mask in my Birchbox, especially clay masks! This mask is full of natural ingredients that help clear and brighten skin. This couldn’t have come at a better time because I broke out super bad this past weekend.
I jumped up and down when I saw I was getting the Amika Dry Shampoo because I just tried out my first ever dry shampoo last week and don’t how I’ve been living without it all my life! I bought a travel size Batiste one from Ulta and I’m curious to see how this one compares.
I’ve gotten a Naobay lotion in the past and I loved it! I hope I like this moisturizer just as much, I found it interesting that it’s made with avocado and olive oils. One thing I was unsure of is if this product was supposed to be sealed. Mine was unsealed – if you got this moisturizer let me know if yours was unsealed and full of air – I’m curious to know if it’s all of us or just me!
Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional – 0.10 oz | $2.32

W3LL PEOPLE The Expressionist Bio Extreme Mascara – ??
I honestly did not expect to get any Benefit products in  my Birchbox! I haven’t used the POREfessional before so I am really excited to try it out since I’ve heard nothing but great things!
I don’t use mascara often so I may send this off to a friend. This one is all natural, pro-grade, and lifts and lengthens lashes without any chemicals or dyes! I think that’s pretty neat so on second thought..I’ll probably keep this for myself! I’m not sure what the sample size is but the full size retails for $23.50.

The total value of this month’s box is $21.71 and this is without the value of the mascara! I’m very happy with all of the products Birchbox sent me this month, I’m for sure going to use everything and I’m most excited about the clay mask, dry shampoo, and POREfessional!

If you want to sign up for Birchbox, you can do so here!

Get your first for Birchbox  $1.00!! A new code that just popped up is “TATIOFFER” I’m not sure when this code expires but it’s worth a shot!

If that doesn’t work try the code below:

And for a limited time, you can get your first box for $5.00! This is a great deal and affordable way to see if this sub is the one for you! Use code “BB50OFF” at checkout!

Just an FYI, these codes are only valid on Women’s Subs!

Another great reason to subscribe to Birchbox is that every subscriber will be receiving an Eyeko Fat Liquid Liner in their June box along with a unique code that can be redeemed on Birchbox‘s website! The cool thing is that EVERY subscriber will win something – whether it’s a discount code, a tote full of samples, or the grand prize – $1000 to spend in the Birchbox shop!

What are your thoughts of this month’s Birchbox? Let me know in the comments below!

April 2015 Birchbox Review

Hello everyone! Has it been a long week for anyone else or just for me? I’m super excited that their are only two weeks left for the semester and my first year of grad school will be complete!

Anywho let’s get to my April Birchbox!

How beautiful is this month’s design? Rifle Paper Co. designed this exclusively for Birchbox!

Something new they started this year is if you share your Birchbox on FB or Twitter you will get an additional 10 points! These points add up super fast since you can get $6 or more worth of store credit each month!

Each box comes with a card detailing the products included:
As always, I peeked at my box so I knew what I was getting ahead of time!
Whish Shave Cream in Blueberry – 0.75 oz $3.00

TempleSpa Peace Be Still Calming Face and Body Balm – 0.84 oz $3.62

Supergoop Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Cream – 2 ml $6.09
I received the shaving cream in a previous box and I still haven’t used it up so I’ll probably send this to a friend. The full size costs $20.00 and I feel like I get the same results as any shaving cream that costs a lot less. The body balm smells super great, the scent is soothing and it’s moisturizing, I really like how it absorbs quickly into my skin! I plan to save up some Birchbox points for the full size, which is $29.00. As for the eye cream, I’ve heard loads of great things about it so I do have high expectations! It’s supposed to reduce dark circles, depuffs, and minimizes fine lines.
The downside to all three of these samples is that half of each bottle is full of air so I got a lot less product than I expected.
Beauty Protector Protect and Oil – ??

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Brightening Illuminator – 0.04 oz $10.18
This oil protects against heat, breakage, and UV rays and I do have high expectations for it since I love the protect and detangle and their hair mask! Almost everyone who tries Beauty Protector products rave about how great they smell and I agree, I LOVE the scent of all their products! The protect and oil sample doesn’t say how many ounces it is and I’m terrible at estimating but the full size is about $26 and 4 ounces. I’m having a hard time believing this tiny sample of the illuminator is $10 since the product is tiny and it feels like most of the tube is filled with air. Maybe I calculated the cost wrong, who knows! Anywho, this highlighter is supposed to leave a subtle glow and I’m probably going to add this to my giveaway or swap pile since I don’t use highlighters often.
This month’s Birchbox wasn’t the best but it wasn’t terrible either. My favorite products are the beauty balm, protect and oil, and eye cream! The overall value of this box is over $22 – that’s more than double the price!
Do you subscribe to Birchbox – if so, what were your favorite products from April?
